Day 49

Hannah and I were outside playing with her camera today. She was so cute running around snapping photos. Unfortunately I lost a couple when the battery cover came open... but she was happy to run around some more taking more photos!

Hannah now has her own blog which I plan to keep up to date, with her help.

Day 48

Lolly pop, lolly pop, oh lolly-lolly pop...

I set up the back drop (because I wanted to use the frame to hang some of Stuart's shirts, as it had been raining on and off...) dressed child in a black top, gave her the lolly pop...

Then the sun decided to come out, and shine through the window off to the side, resulting in some nasty lighting. Lolly pop had been brought out, so I just had to grin and bare it.

Not normally my style, but I could not resist using selective colouring for the first shot.

Day 47

I forgot to post this yesterday!

Just a couple of Toby taken with the black backdrop again. Who can resist a nekkid baby!

Really weird looking Toby. lol!

Day 46

Catch up!

These are actually a couple of days old... but this is the first chance I have had to put them up!

I love getting Hannah involved when I am taking photos, and for these ones she decided she was picking the subjects, and where they would be taken.

Daddy was asleep. He is sick (read absolutely dying from the same cold that Hannah had, and I am just shaking off the last of).

Hannah wanted a book read to her...

Day 45

Last of the wedding photos... although sorting through 200 photos (of which I have over 100 to pass to the B&G!) I am not sure that I really want to see another photo any time soon! lol.

VERY happy with the results, though!

I just loved this one! ROFL!

Day 44

My reward for a day of editing wedding photos was to skip forward and pick out one of the flower girl photos to try some different photo shop actions on.

I really want to find a location like this that has open access (this spot is in a closed off garden at the church). The lighting is lovely, and the background is beautiful for photos!

Day 43

One of my best friends sisters was married today!

I was kind of going to do photography... but thanks to a bit of miscommunication (They thought I was, I thought I wasn't... then I had a baby, so they thought I wasn't going to be able to anyway) they got someone else they knew with a fancy camera to do the photos. I was to be taking some photos too, anyway, but not being the designated photo taker, I was not given much opportunity to get in to take any.

This is the first shot off the camera (actually, it is the 4th - but the first 3 were of the very white cars and their white ribbon which just got lost against them, so I skipped to the first one with people...)

Will post more when I have had some sleep!

Friday 22 February 2008

Day 42

Using all his forehead muscles to lift his head... lol!

Thursday 21 February 2008

Day 41

Huh?

I picked up a cheap underwater camera today. And I mean cheap... lol! But it will be good for a bit of fun, and Hannah loves playing with my camera, so I am hoping that she will take a shining to this one instead. It is a lot more robust, and something like 1/80th of the price!

Apparently an icecream container in low light is not the best place for taking photos, though.

(taken on the waterline - the circle is some kind of blemish on the cameras lens)

Wednesday 20 February 2008

Day 40

No new photos. Taking a sicky today!

This is one from the city trip a couple of days ago.

Tuesday 19 February 2008

Day 39

Awww. Just wish his sister would do it too!

Monday 18 February 2008

Day 38

Just the one photo twice, because I couldn't decide between the B&W and the colour. She was looking up the spear at Melbourne Central.

There are more photos from today, but I am soooo tired and it is too hot to sit near the computer any longer.

Sunday 17 February 2008

Day 37

A day at the park - we met up with a friend of Stuarts from work, and his family. We had a fantastic time - especially Hannah, who I am fairly sure has a new best friend. She has not stopped talking about S all day!

I actually left my camera at home. I thought I was fine, as I had forgotten to get Hannah's hat, and was going to go home on the pretence of grabbing that... only Stuart had picked it up and had it in his back pocket! So I just gave up and admitted that I was just going to get the camera. So sad - I can not manage one outing without it! It was so nice to have somewhere that is not the backyard to take photos of the kids, though.

Toby was being his usual charming self. He LOVES the camera (thank goodness one child does). He was just sitting there looking around, then as soon as I pointed the camera at him, he was all smiles and grins. Awww! I so love my boy!

S. is so adorable! And such a sweet kid. I don't blame Hannah for being besotted with him! lol.

REALLY annoyed that the beam was there, but I had a ladder next to me, and I could not get around it before she ran down. It was only really a half second pause. I do love her hands, though!

A. has me dreading having 2 mobile kids! I had forgotten (repressed?) just how quickly and mindlessly young walkers can move! For the moment, I am just going to appreciate having a child that is happy to lay in his capsule, just emerging for the occasional feed.

She is such an adorable little girl, though!

Hehe - I made them pose for this one. I have it all sorted, though... Hannah and S can get married... Toby can marry Marian (from the other day...) I can really see the appeal of arranged marriages for mothers! lol!

Saturday 16 February 2008

Day 36

A few photos today! I decided to set up the new black polarfleece with the basket. Once I could stop the wind blowing it over (we are a bit short of space inside, so I had to set it up outside) it worked really well!

I could not decide between colours and B&W, so I included both. I can not believe how well the fleece worked! Not bad for less than $10!

I LOVE this one! Even though it is not really anything special portrait wise. Typical Hannah.

Lesson of the day - when you are photographing something white against a black background, you really need to shoot manual, and auto for white balance does not work that well either. Teach me to be lazy! DO really want to get a grey card, though! Next investment!

Friday 15 February 2008

Day 35

Playing with a new prop! I have been wanting a nicely sized basket for a while, and I noticed this one at the Reject Shop a couple of weeks ago - only I was with Stuart, and he always sulks when I spend "more money" on bits like this. I was out with both the kids today, Hannah was happy, Toby was sleeping... so I snuck into the shops and picked up my basket. I also got some black polar fleece, which scanned at about half the amount that it was marked at! Woohoo!

So total spending today <$20.

Anyway, Toby was just waking and was not happy about being made to wait for his boob. lol! Not the best model. Might try again tomorrow when he is in a better mood.

Day 34

ARGH! Late posting, AND no new photos for the day! Have to borrow another one from the shoot. Poor Toby has really not been a happy chap, his reflux has had him screaming half the day... so not really able to find time to get the camera out.

Wednesday 13 February 2008

Day 33 - Photo shoot

I am ZONKED! So really quick.

I had a photo shoot on today. Two LOVELY kids! Unfortunately mine who accompanied was not so lovely. Poor Toby's reflux is playing up, so instead of being the nice, quiet, sleeping baby that he was supposed to be, he spent a good portion of the time that we were there screaming. Poor kid!

Anyway, I am on my way to bed, but I thought I should put something up!

Day 32

VERY busy day... wore the kids out!

Tuesday 12 February 2008

Day 31 - 1 month!

LOZZY HAD HER BABY!!!

WELCOME TO THE WORLD, MARIAN CHRISTINE!!!
CONGRATS LAUREN AND ED!!!

I had the delightful honour of photographing a less than 7 hour old baby today. I don't think I got to do that with either of my own kids!

I am so happy for Loz and Ed. They are the most beautiful people... Marian has picked the perfect family to be a part of.

And with only 3 months between Marian and Toby... lol!
